International Democratic Union

The IDU was created during the administration of George H. W. Bush and is currently the forum for several political parties around the world. As it is primarily a promotional body for Democracy and Freedom, I have some suggestions of other Political Parties from around the world that should be included, and some which should be booted out of power in their.

Boots
Taiwan's KMT (To be replaced with the Pan Green Coalition (Taiwan Solidarity Union, Taiwan Independence Party, and Democratic Progressive Party))

Additions
Israel (BaAyila, Yesha Council, Kadima, Meimad, Likud)
Ireland (Fine Gael)
Scotland (Scottish Nationalist Party)
Brazil (Democrats, Progressive Party, Brazilian Labour Party, Liberterians)
United States (Libertarian Party, Constitution Party)
Japan (Liberal Democratic Party)

For those of you who have never heard of the International Democtratic Union, they are a group of political parties that advocate democracy around the world, and the use of necessary force, whether economic, political, or military to achieve the goals of a Democratic World.

As such, I feel that once BaAyila is a member, its founder, Natan Sharansky should be voted in as the leader of the Organization.

Now, on the reason why there is no presence by the Democratic Party of the United States. Currently, the Democratic Party seems to be taking a "The Devil We Know..." stance on the dictatorships of the world. While individual members of the Democratic Party are out there calling for the End of dictatorships, the big wigs in the party are more focused on internal power than Human Rights outside their borders.

On the other hand, the Republican Party has been taking active stances in an attempt to spread Freedom and Democracy around the world. Once we have Democrats in power who switch away from the Carter style of learning to live with dictators, and actively supporting calls for sanctions on people such as Fidel Castro, Hu Jintao, the Junta in Burma, President Mahmoud Iminajihad of Iran, and Kim Jong Il of North Korea, then they should be offered entry into the group. But until then, they need to be barred.

While their people fight for Human Rights, they fight for Political Power, which is not what the IDU is about.
